  1. What is the difference between CD-Rom, CD-R & CD-RW ?

CD-ROM known as Compact Disc-Read only memory, which can only be read. CD-ROM is replicated by a stamper, and all the content data will be already in the CD; CD-R known as Recordable, can be burned only within the MB unit in the CD, and data cannot be erased; CD-RW known as Re-writable, can be burned and erased data many times, up to around 1,000 times.

  2. What should I submit to process CD production ?

You will need to submit the following:
(1) Purchase Order
(2) Letter of Warranty (copyright)
(3) Film color Separation
(4) Master CD-R, which is burned with a 1X speed burner. Client can provide
any format of content in their favorite, Flash, Director, PDF format are the
    most popular among our clients.
(5) Color Proof (recommended)

  3. What is the minimum order quantity for CD-Rom, CD-R and CD-RW ?

For CD-Rom and CD-R, MOQ is 1,000 pcs for silkscreen printing; 2,000 pcs for offset printing. And we do not offer CD-RW at the moment.

  4. What is the lead-time ?

For an initial order (1,000 pcs), it usually takes around 5-7 working days upon receive of all relevant materials.

  5. How do you make an irregular shape CD (e.g. cut, mould, laser) ?

In the market, there are several ways to die-cut irregular CD: cut, mould, laser, etc. Cutting method is the best way to die-cut CD because mould CD is a fixed shape, not flexible, at the same time, it limits the storage unit, therefore it would be hard to use for Irregular shape CD. And using laser machine, the CD will appear red edge because of the radiation during cutting process. In High Tech, we use our tailor-made machines to cut the CD, it's very flexible both in shape and storage unit. Moreover, we can cut holes in inner area of CD, at the same time, the CD can be bigger or smaller depending on the storage unit.

  6. Would the shape make any difference to the storage ?

Yes, the storage unit is depended on the shape. Technically, the larger the CD, the more MB there is, but note that it depends how large the circle area go since the data in running in circle. Therefore the larger the circle, the larger the storage unit; the smaller the circle, the smaller the storage unit.

  7. What can I store in an irregular shape CD (Audio, Video, Data) ?

You can pretty much store anything you would like. Audio, Video or Data, but make sure there is enough storage unit to put everything inside.
